About kevfarrell

I have 40 years teaching experience in NSW schools including eleven years as principal of a K-12 central school. I am a Life Member of the NSW Secondary Principals' Council. I was amember of the SPC Executive for a number of years repr4esenting Cental School principals. I am a Life Member of the NSW PDHPE Teachers' Association which I founded in 1978. I am a passionate supporter of public education and an opponent of public funding of private education systems in Australia which I believe is a contravention of the Australian Constitution. I believe that supporters of public education in Australia need to work together to elect Public Education representatives to the parliaments of Australia, focusing especially on the Senate of the Australian Parliament. I believe in the "right to choose". I also believe that choosing to opt out of the public education system of Australia brings with it the responsibility to fund that decision from the individual person's own resources. I believe that it is time for "private" and "independent" schools of Australia to progressively fund themselves fully from their own resources with all federal and state government funding for school education to be allocated to public education and public schools.
